Accidental Death Benefit

Daly Credit Corporation, has secured Accidental Death Benefit for you, provided certain terms and conditions have been met.  In the event of your accidental death, an immediate cash payment of up to R4 000 will be made to your Nominated Beneficiary.  This benefit is provided at no extra cost to yourself, however certain terms and conditions apply.

 

Eligibility

To be eligible for the benefit:

  • You must be between the ages of 18 and 74 years (i.e. younger than age 75 next birthday).  
  • You must reach and maintain at least the Silver level repayment status, as per the table below:

  • You must nominate the beneficiary who will receive the reward upon your accidental death. 
  • The reward is not available if you die as a result of: 
    • A disease, epidemic or a pandemic
    • An Act of Government
    • Participation in:
      • an act of war (whether war is declared or not); 
      • military action; 
      • Riot or unlawful strike
      • insurrection; 
      • civil commotion; 
      • usurpation of power; 
      • martial law; 
      • terrorism; and
      • any usage of nuclear, chemical and biological weapons, device or agent.

 

  • Your beneficiary must provide the following documentation to Daly Credit Corporation 
    • Certified copy of your ID and death certificate;
    • A copy of the South African Police Service report; 
    • Certified copy of the beneficiary’s ID; and 
    • Proof of the beneficiary’s banking details.

Terms and conditions

  • Access to the service is available to validated clients only.
  • Based on symptom assessment, clients may be referred to a medical professional.  Any costs incurred for services rendered by a medical professional are to be paid by the member.
  • Symptom assessments are made based on the information provided by the member at the time of the call and can only be as accurate as the information provided by the member.

Service Benefits

 

Telephonic Trauma Counselling (Qualified Nurse)
  • Telephonic trauma debriefing, 24-hours a day by qualified nurses. If necessary, the caller may be referred to the next level of counselling.

 

Face-to-Face Trauma Counselling
  • If the Qualified Nurse’s assessment indicates that the client needs professional assistance, a face-to-face counselling session will be arranged. The caller will be referred to a network of social workers/ psychologists in their specified area for face-to-face counselling sessions. The cost of these sessions is paid by the patient.

 

Terms and conditions

  • Access to the service is available to validated members only.
  • The cost of the Face-to-Face Trauma Counselling sessions will be for the patients account.
  • This is not an insurance product.
  • The per member per month fee buys the member access to a number of incidents per annum as set out in the agreement.

This help line offers telephonic guidance and information on taxation and finance related matters to enable a member to make informed decisions about their financial status. The line operates during normal working hours. The operator cannot offer advice as defined in terms of the FAIS Act but rather will provide general guidance and factual information.

  • Guidance with drafting a will.
  • Assistance with interpretation of any financial or insurance legal documentation such as a funeral policy and the procedure to be followed.

  • The service is only available to validated clients via the contact centre.
  • Any assistance other than telephonic tax and financial advice will be for the client’s account.

Service Benefits

The Funeral Assist benefit comprises the following:

  • Arranging and facilitating overnight accommodation for the next-of-kin when having to identify the body outside the normal area of residence.
  • Arranging for the repatriation of the mortal remains to a place of burial within South Africa, depending on member’s requirement. Member to pay for the service.
  • Advising and referring the bereaved family to a reputable undertaker, as well as assisting with the funeral arrangements; this service takes cognisance of member’s customs and beliefs, and the case manager will exercise special care and adhere to those customs and beliefs.
  • Advice on how to apply for a death certificate, and where applicable, advice on how to obtain the necessary documentation if the deceased is to be buried outside South Africa.
  • Assistance with interpretation of any legal documentation such as a funeral policy and the procedure to be followed.
  • Referral to counselling services for support and advice for the bereaved family.

 

Terms and Conditions

  • Access to the service is available to validated clients only.
  • Case manager will assist clients with all necessary details. 
  • Arranging and facilitation of the overnight accommodation will be for the members account.

In the event of a medical emergency, this service can be contacted 24 hours a day to arrange emergency medical assistance and transportation.

 

Service Benefits

  • Access to a 24-Hour Emergency medical assistance Contact Centre.
  • Assisted by medically trained agents registered with the HPCSA.
  • Immediate dispatch of emergency medical services in order to provide lifesaving assistance.
  • Constant monitoring of the incident until the ambulance provider has delivered the member to the hospital.
  • Emergency Pre-Arrival instructions provided by agents e.g. CPR.
  • Emergency transportation by air or road ambulance.
  • One-way medical upgrade to an appropriate medical facility as continuation of the initial emergency response “same day” from the current treating facility that is unable to care/manage the condition of the member.
  • Repatriation of member to a treating facility closer to their place of residence if the incident has occurred more than 200km from the member’s residence.
  • Access to non-emergency medical transportation, at member’s own cost.
  • Payment of medical transportation costs.
  • Largest national network of emergency medical service providers.
  • Comprehensive daily, monthly or quarterly reporting of Contact Centre interactions and claims statistics.

  • Access to the service is available to validated members only.
  • This is not an insurance product.
  • The retainer fee buys the client access to a set number of incidents per month / annum which may be used across its member base as set out in the agreement.
